She has achieved this together with her husband by means of motor biking - this last year she successfully biked over 7000 km while enjoying the many natural areas Alberta has to offer. She also enjoys whenever possible standup paddle boarding, yoga, hiking and gardening.

TMJ Treatment for jaw Disfunction
As a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), Colinda Taddeo is pleased to offer an orthopaedic specialization in assessing and treating conditions related
TMJ-D - Temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction. People who experience TMJ-D pain, clicking, tightness occurs as a result of increased load to soft tissues and articulate surfaces due to repetitive, sustained and abnormal excessive habits such as clenching, grinding and associated activities of chewing gum, biting tongue or cheek, pencils, fingernail, playing musical instrument, holding phone against shoulder, etc. More extensive assessment is often required to so Colinda will make a comprehensive assessment in the following areas for TMJ-D to find associated pain patterns and patterns of movement:
A - Client health history - car accidents, whiplash, falls, head aches, if client wears a dental appliance, previous surgical procedures, medications
B - Measuring mouth opening
C - Lower jaw side deviations - L and R measurement and contact ability of upper and lower teeth
D - Protrusions - how far forward
E - Joint loading
F - Joint locking
G - Palpation - muscle inside the mouth, surface of face, front and posterior neck and scalp
H - Posture - ex - chin forward, tilted neck, scoliosis, elevated shoulder blade
Since Colinda received the level 2 training in TMJ dysfunction assessment and treatment protocols, she has worked with a number of clients who have had structural and functional challenges. Clients can expect to have treatments on the outside of the jaw(face) and inside their mouth along with neck, head massage, scalp, back and shoulder massage. Clients know that while they are waiting for further medical interventions they can receive treatment from Colinda to relieve or reduce their pain to more tolerable levels. Colinda encourages and maintains very good communication with her clients thru the entire process of treatment and provides self-care activities so her clients can continue to improve once they leave their treatment session.
